These standards are a vital part of Washoe County's quality of life and play a key role in maintaining minimum acceptable construction standards and a predictable regulatory environment. Important Building Codes update:
Washoe County has adopted the 2018 codes per Ordinance 1627 which will be in effect January 1, 2019.

Washoe County Building will provide a grace period from January 1, 2019 to June 30, 2019 during which applicants will be able to use either the 2012 or 2018 Building Codes as long as one version of codes is used throughout the entire project (all 2012 family of codes or all 2018 codes).
